About Me

Let me tell you a little about Mrs. McFarland, who oversees all this 'madness'.

I grew up in the small town of Plattsburg, Missouri, located north of Kansas City. After high school, I attended Truman State University in Kirksville. There I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, followed by a Master of Arts in Education. After completing my student teaching, and interviewing like crazy I settled down to teach Middle School at a private Catholic school in Saint Joseph, MO.

I am about to start my 3rd year and I love my school and students. I am always looking for more ways to challenge and inspire them. I love integrating technology into my classes and am always willing to try something new.

One of my biggest struggles as a new educator is finding ways to stay structured and organized. I created this blog to help keep track of my efforts, my triumphs, and failures and hopefully help someone else in the process.

  1. So proud of you Jessica! Staying organized is a constant battle for me as well. Our job is chaotic, ever changing and mind boggling! A wise woman once told me, "On the day I retire, I will discover an easier way to do something and wonder why I didn't figure that one out sooner." Can you guess the name of that wise woman?
